John Schimmel of John's Cement in Milford, Mich., likes to share with his clients unique and simple ways to personalize their concrete projects. This patio was 600 square feet with a series of steps leading down to it. Schimmel helped create a free-form design suitable to accommodate the client’s activities which included installing a fire pit at one end. Kemiko Cola stained pool deck. The pool installers did not offer the homeowner the option of decorative concrete for their deck. Creative Concrete Solutions was hired to do a straight stain. Stamping the deck after it had been poured would have been too costly, but the homeowner still wanted to enhance the deck. Staining it provided a cost-effective way to add color and beauty to the pool deck.

Process: Prepared concrete using EcoAcid to open the surface pores. To separate colors, cut score marks in the concrete using an angle grinder. Installed the ORIGINAL Solid Color Stains (custom colors) using a NewLook Applicator Brush.

This residential colored driveway was stained in an auburn color. The diagonal strip across the driveway was sandblasted to bring out the aggregate and add interest to the surface.

This concrete floor was stained in Cola, Golden Wheat, and English Red.

Winner of a 2012 ASCC Decorative Concrete Council Award - First Place Certificate in Concrete Artistry, Under 5000 SF.
This project consisted of 800 sq. ft. of new concrete poured to extend a 150 sq. ft. existing pad into a beautiful outdoor area. The new section included building 2 sitting walls that followed the curve of the outside edge of the patio. A vine-like design flows throughout the space and wraps around the sitting walls. A black acid stain heavily diluted was used as the base color with a full strength black acid stain on the vines and a slightly diluted black on the leaves. A dark walnut acid stain creates the illusion of shadows underneath the vines and leaves. The patio was sealed with a UV stable solvent-based sealer.

This 30,000 sq. ft. commercial concrete floor at a printing company in Philadelphia was created using a trowelled down overlay. A 36 “ square tile pattern was cut into the surface and then it was acid stained with Elitecrete’s antique red.
